Hello DWD Families,

As you may or may not know, the 4th of July is a BIG deal in the Dam West! Although it is a neighborhood event, ALL members and families on the Dolphins are invited! (You don’t need to live here). This year’s theme is “Circus Under the Big Top”.

There are lots of events happening on that day, but the order of events for the Pancake breakfast/parade are as follows:

8:00am: $5 Pancake breakfast at the pool. (This is the ONLY fundraiser for the team)

9:30am: Meet at the Polton parking lot to decorate and assemble for the parade/judges.

10:00am: Parade starts.

Traditionally, the Dolphins carry the Team Banner and walk behind the firetruck (which leads the way). In the past we’ve had three decorated “floats” (people’s cars and trucks), which are always the most fun! This year we only have ONE truck (my husbands); if you have a truck (car, golf cart, etc) and like to participate in the parade or are interested in decorating a vehicle, please reach out to me ASAP! If you would like to participate you can click on this link to sign-up for the parade.

Alternatively, or in addition, everyone is welcome to ride their bike or scooter as long as they have control over it and can ride safely without assistance. Swimmers can wear their team swim suits or t-shirts and/or incorporate the parade theme, whatever they want, just join us and help represent the Dam West Dolphins! We will have some candy for the kids to toss out along the way. Handmade decorations, banners and signs are also welcomed.
