Prelim Day 1 Results (7-12-21)
Prelim Day 1 is done! Great job to everyone that was there and THANK YOU to all the volunteers who stepped up and helped out today!
I am attaching the Meet Results and Individual Results. Congratulations to everyone that made it into the Top 16 of their events!! Nearly everyone is swimming at least 1 event and most are swimming in 2 or 3!
We had 17 events that had 8 or less swimmers so those swimmers were automatically pushed through to Championships in those events! Yay! Just FYI, there are no results listed for those 17 events since they did not actually swim today. Don’t worry! You will see them on the Championship Meet Program! You WILL swim those events!
So now to figure out what those results mean:
The Top 16 swimmers in each event go on to the Championships. The top 8 swimmers will swim in the “Medal Round” while swimmers 9-16 will swim in the “Ribbon Round.”
Example: If your swimmer was #10 at Prelims they are in the Ribbon Round. So even if they swim the fastest time of everyone in their event at Championships, the best they will do is a 9th place ribbon.
If your swimmer does not make the Top 16 but makes it to 17 or 18 please be on stand-by. A vast majority of the time there are scratches on the day of Championships and many swimmers make it into their event after all! We are already being notified of swimmers that will not swim on Saturday and the swimmers that are moving up.

NO PRACTICE: Reminder that there will not be practice on Tuesday, July 13. We will see you all on Wednesday morning!
PRELIMS DAY 2: For all of you doing Day 2 tomorrow – I should have the Meet Program by 5pm tonight so look for it around then.
BANQUET: If you could all please RSVP ASAP, “Attending” or “Not Attending” for the Banquet that would be super helpful as we try to figure out how we’re going to set up this year and how much of things we actually need. I know some of you will be missing Championships but if you are back on Sunday, July 18th, please come join us!
PHOTOS: If you got any good photos that you are willing to share, please share them with Alisa Becerra from the shared google drive she sent out. Look for an email invitation from Alisa Becerra (via Google Drive) with a subject line like: "DAM WEST DOLPHINS 2021 - Invitation to collaborate" She will be working hard to put everything together before Sunday so please help her out if you can!
