URGENT! Important Info about Tomorrow!

    I was trying to wait for the Meet Program and Individual Entry List but I'm still waiting and wanted to send out some more info before it gets too late. Please see yesterday’s email for details on the meet itself and where to find information. Most important is  what to need to bring. We can help you navigate the rest of it at the meet.

    I-25 DELAYS/CLOSURE!! I-25 will be delayed or closed tomorrow for emergency bridge repairs near Lincoln. See the article HERE for map and details of the work and the detour and plan accordingly! It looks like it should just be opening up from a full closure by the time we’d be driving through around 6:30am but not sure what that will look like.  Nice and clear?  Totally backed up?  I'm not sure!  And coming home will have a single left lane closure.   Not sure what to tell you but wanted everyone to know ASAP!  (Thank you, Joey Chavez, for the heads up!!)

    • Friday, June 4, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday, June 5: FULL closure of northbound I-25 and double lane closures on southbound I-25 from Ridgegate Parkway to Lincoln Avenue
    • Saturday, June 5, 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Single left lane closure of northbound I-25
    • Saturday, June 5, 7 p.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 6: FULL closure of northbound I-25 and double lane closures on southbound I-25 from Ridgegate Parkway to Lincoln Avenue

    VOLUNTEERS: We definitely need to find a Shift 1 and Shift 2 Scribe! The scribe sits at a table in the officials area, in the shade near the pool and listens on a radio to the Stroke & Turn judges and the Meet Ref. If a disqualification (DQ) is called they write down the information on a DQ slip (event #, lane #, what the disqualification was.)

    We also need 2 more volunteers for Shift 2 Scoring Table. These people also sit in the officials area. At an Away Meet they will help with score verification by looking over the results and processing the DQ slips. They will run various errands such as posting results, collecting time sheets, taking DQ slips to appropriate team coaches and running information to and from the Scoring Table, the Starter, Heating Area and Meet Referee. They might be asked to visually confirm that swimmers are in the appropriate lanes for each heat and work with the File-Writer to confirm scratches and lane changes, if needed.

    And of course, last but not least, we need 6 more Shift 2 Timers. These people will have a stopwatch and time the swimmer in their lane then write it on the card. Front row seat to all the action!

    CONCESSIONS: Castle Rock will have breakfast burritos, bagels and coffee available for purchase! Cash only please. Please be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks for you and your swimmer(s).

    SWIMTOPIA APP: Just a reminder about the Swimtopia App. Once you login you can select the “Dam West @ Castle Rock East” event and see your swimmers’ info, events, times, etc. You can even see what you signed up to volunteer for and/or use the “Job Signup” button at the very bottom to sign up for something. Unfortunately, we are the only team using Swimtopia so it won’t give you a live update during the meet. And DO NOT upgrade to Pro for the same reason - it won’t help since it’s just us.

    T-SHIRTS/CAPS: If you order a t-shirt and don’t have it yet, Julia will have them at the meet. She will also have swim caps available. (If she’s busy you can find me too.)

    PHOTOS: We usually have a parent that acts as our “team photographer” and she tries to get pictures of all the kids during the meets.  Unfortunately, she is unable to do that for this meet. (And potentially all the meets!) So if you happen to enjoy taking photos and get some cute ones of your swimmer(s) or ANY of the swimmers please share them with us! I will send out a link next week with where you can upload them.
